In celebration of National Pina Colada Day, a New York City restaurant has mixed up the worlds largest pina coloada! Four employees at the Selena Rosa restaurant combined the 6-foot tall rum-based cocktail — which contained gallons of pineapple juice, coconut cream, and white rum — with a special mixer (usually used for making small batches of cement!), creating the largest of its kind in bartending history. The giant cocktail contained enough booze for 2,500 regular-sized drinks. “We welcome all the commuters … because this is the summer of hell with all the construction,” said Sammy Musovic, owner of Selena Rosa Restaurant. He said he’s in the process of entering it into the Guinness Book of World Records.
He said, “It’s 150 gallons of rum and 100 bottles of pineapple juice and coconut cream. We found out the old record was 140 gallons, so we decided not to do 141, but 150 gallons. The best and biggest one of all time.” The Pina Colada is the national drink of Puerto Rico.
