Women’s Institute Donate to South Simcoe Police

On the day that Bradford West Gwillimbury Mayor Rob Keffer declared Women’s Institute Week, South Simcoe Police received a donation.

The Bond Head Women’s Institute, celebrating their 95th year, donated 65 “Bears, Books and Blankets” to be given to children in need. The toys will be placed in cruisers, ready to be given to a child in a time of crisis.

“We are pleased to receive these Bears, Books and Blankets”, said Chief Rick Berazley. “We’d like to thank the Women’s Institute for their ongoing contributions to the community.”

Leila Lloyd, president of the Bond Head chapter was on hand with a large number of Women’s Institute members to make the presentation to Chief Beazley at the Bradford Town Council chambers.

The Women’s Institute has been a Canadian tradition for 120 years. February 20-27 has been declared Women’s Institute Week.
