Whats Up Doc? Bugs Bunny turns 80!

That Wascally Wabbit (and one of my all-time heroes) first appeared on April 30, 1938  in a cartoon titled:  “Porky’s Hare Hunt”.     Bugs evolved…two years after that he was given  a voice and his signature question, “Whats up doc?” by the brilliant Mel Blanc.  Bugs and his other Looney Tunes friends came out of  “Termite Towers,” a special cartoon studio on the back-lot of Warner Brothers Hollywood Studio.  And what a star..Bugs got his own TV prime-time “Bugs Bunny Show” in 1960. Two years later it was moved  to Saturday mornings where it aired for another 40 years! Bugs is a clever-tricky-conniving and quick bunny (with a Brooklyn accent) who sums up his persona with another of his trademark questions…”Ain’t I a stinker?!”

Happy Birthday Bugs! Love always, Brian
