Vaughan Teacher Charged in Sexual Assault Against a Student

York Regional Police have charged a 28-year-old Vaughan woman in connection with a sexual assault investigation involving a teenaged male student.

On January 26, 2018, police began an investigation after receiving information about a teacher believed to be involved in a sexual relationship with a teenaged student between October and December 2017.

The accused has been working as an occasional high school supply teacher with the York Catholic District School Board since 2014. Investigators want to ensure that there are no additional victims and are asking anyone with information to please come forward.

Marianna Riossi, 28, of Vaughan, is charged with three counts each of sexual assault and sexual exploitation. She will appear in court in Newmarket on March 6, 2018.
