An Edmonton woman, Ariel Durkin, found a huge surprise when she popped the hood to check her oil. A local Squirrel’s winter’s supply of nuts and cones.
“I was in shock at first.” she said. “I didn’t know what was going on, and then I thought. ‘I have to film this, this is hilarious!’
I found a peanut. I don’t know where he found that. I found some old, rotten crab apples, because we have apple trees around. And I found some rocks, and one rock was shoved between some engine parts. So, I don’t know if that was dangerous, but I got it out.”
This is a thing now..

I had a similar shock when I went to check my oil last fall. I opened the hood and noticed a couple of nuts but more importantly, I found that some rodent had been eating away at my spark plug wires, right through to the wire. Apparently some car parts contain some bio material that squirrels, mice and rats seem to really like to nibble on. Just a heads up to give the engine a glance the next time you top up the windshield washer.
