Stay Fire Safe This Holiday Season

Festive lights, decorations, candles and Christmas trees are classic hallmarks of the season. It’s important to be aware of the potential they pose as fire hazards and how you can prevent a disaster.

Christmas trees should be as fresh as possible (needles should be green and not falling off the tree) Before placing in the tree stand, make a fresh cut to the bottom and immerse in water immediately.. Water often, the tree trunk should be immersed in water at all times. Whether the tree is real or artificial, place it away from heat sources such as fireplaces, radiators or heaters. Keep the tree away from candles. Battery operated, flameless  LED candles are best.

Enjoy the season safely.     More to come..
