Quebec Dealing With Influx Of Asylum Seekers

Some newcomers to Canada will be calling Montreal’s Olympic Stadium “home” for a while.  The stadium is going to be used as a temporarily shelter because Quebec is seeing a large influx of asylum seekers. The first groups were bused to the stadium yesterday where its rotunda was filled with cots. Apparently Quebec is dealing with as many as 100 people a day entering the province from the US. They say most of the asylum seekers are Haitians worried about the Trump administration’s potential rollback of their “temporary protected status” since the 2010 earthquake.
