Police Release Names of Two GTA Motorcyclists Killed in Haliburton Highlands Collision

On Saturday July 15, 2017, just after 5 p.m., members of the Haliburton Highlands OPP attended the scene of a serious multi-vehicle collision on Highway 118 between Trappers Trail and Essonville Line in Highlands East Township.

Investigation revealed a Chrysler PT Cruiser was travelling eastbound when it crossed the center line and collided with four of seven motorcycles travelling west bound on Highway 118. The male driver of the PT Cruiser sustained minor injuries.

As a result of the collision two persons received fatal injuries and two other persons received serious life threatening injuries. The deceased motorcycle riders were identified as 52-year-old George Eliadis and 42-year-old Shari Williams, both of Uxbridge.

Members of the Central Region Technical Traffic Collision Investigation unit attended the collision scene to assist with the investigation.
