On May 10, 2017 just after 6 pm, Caledon OPP were called to a collision at the intersection of The Gore Road and Healey Road.
The collision involved two vehicles: a red Nissan Frontier and a grey Ford Focus. The driver of Nissan was travelling southbound on The Gore Road, while the driver of the Ford was travelling eastbound on Healey Road. Upon entering the intersection the Ford Focus was struck by the southbound Nissan.
The driver of the Nissan was transported to hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the Ford, Romeo Canlas, 67, of Scarborough has succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, while the passenger of his vehicle was transported to a trauma centre with major injuries.
The intersection was closed for several hours while police investigated the crash. The intersection re-opened to traffic at 3 am this morning.
No charges are expected to be laid.
