York Police helicopters were helping yesterday in the search for a missing York Region woman.

Police say 30 year old Zabia Afzal of Vaughan was last seen in Toronto Thursday morning.

The York University student was spotted near the 400 and Major Mackenzie Drive West on Thursday, then near Ashbridges Bay just after 10:30 in the morning.

Police allege Afzal took an Uber to Woodbine Beach in the city’s east end and say her shoes, sweater and some other belongings were found near the edge of the water .

Investigators say police and family members are concerned about her well-being.

Toronto police have been conducting ground and water searches, while family and friends have been searching the Scarborough Bluffs.
