Peterborough Teen Receives ‘Diana Award’ From Prince William And Prince Harry

14-year-old Faith Dickinson from Peterborough, Ontario was recently awarded the inaugural Diana Award in London, England. The reason? For creating Cuddles For Cancer when she was just 9 years old. After hearing that “cancer patients often got cold during their treatments, Faith came up with the idea of making fleece blankets, hoping it would bring patients warmth, comfort and love. Since then, she has raised over $15,000 to help her make 700+ of her cuddle blankets.” Amazing! According to Kensington Palace, the Diana Award recognizes “young people who have carried out inspiring work without expecting a reward” and it “honours the legacy of Diana, Princess of Wales, through her belief in the power of young people.” The awards were handed out on Wednesday to various youth (from around the world) by Prince William and Prince Harry.
