Orillia’s First Round Of 2019 Grants Supports Festivals And Events

Coun. Pat Hehn presented the first round of grants for 2019 to local festivals and event organizers on behalf of Council on Jan. 11.

“Festivals and events are truly the heart of our community and provide rich experiences for our residents and visitors alike,” said Coun. Hehn. “We are thrilled to support these worthy organizations and look forward to seeing the impact that these funds will make this year.”

This is the first round of grants presented in 2019 and were funded as part of the Partnership Programming for Cultural Festivals and Events grant program.

Grant recipients through the 2019 Partnership Programming for Cultural Festivals and Events:

  • Orillia Heritage Centre
$1,000
  • Orillia Scottish Festival
$2,500
  • Roots North Music Festival
$2,000

The Partnership Programming for Cultural Festivals and Events program is part of the City of Orillia grants program and recognizes the valuable contribution festivals and events make to the economic and social fabric of the City, building strong partnerships between the not-for-profit, business and cultural sectors.
