Almost 100 million people watched in awe as former NFL star OJ Simpson led 20 police cars on a chase through Los Angeles in a white Ford Bronco. OJ held a gun to his head while his friend Al Cowlings, who owned the car, drove it slowly down the highway. What followed was nothing short of the most closely followed criminal trial in history which ended in Simpson’s acquittal over the murder of his ex-wife Nicole Brown and her friend Ron Goldman. But the infamous car remained an iconic piece of modern American history and could now fetch more than $700,000 after Simpson’s former agent Mike Gilbert put it up for sale. Before the murder trial, Cowlings sold his Bronco to Simpson’s former agent Mike Gilbert for around just $66,000. Gilbert stowed it away from prying eyes, only going back once a year to check it was still in working order. It has now been placed on display at the Alcatraz East Crime Museum in Tennessee, where Gilbert hopes it will attract someone who is willing to meet his asking price.
