New Technology Can Switch Off Child’s Cell Phone Remotely And Monitor Screen Time

Parents concerned with their children’s cell phone and tablet use may now have technology at their fingertips to help them set digital limits.  Though most families will want to take an active role in monitoring their child’s internet use, enforcing boundaries can often be more difficult.  The launch of Family Link – a new app developed by Google – will no doubt come as a digital godsend to many parents faced with the challenges of managing their kids’ online activity.

How parental controls can keep kids safe

They can set screen time limits

Block in-app purchases

Block numbers and SMS

Allow or block websites

Restrict chat features

Allow parental monitoring

Block sexually explicit sites

Family Link can help parents stay in the loop and set certain ground rules around how children use their devices, Google said in a statement.
