Mississauga Woman Steals Truck While Owner Changed Tire in Orangeville

A 22-year old Mississauga woman is facing several criminal charges after Orangeville Police arrested her for stealing a pick-up truck while the owner was changing a flat tire Monday night.

Police say that at around 10 p.m. on August 21, 2017, the woman approached the male driver of a Ford F150 to offer assistance in changing the tire on Broadway in Orangeville. While the owner was outside at the back of the truck, the thief jumped in the cab and drove off of the jack and away down Broadway. The truck’s owner immediately called the police, who were able to stop the stolen vehicle in a parking lot just down the road.

The woman was arrested and charged with Theft Over $5000, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Mischief Under $5000 and Driving While Disqualified. She is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.
