A man wanted on several outstanding charges was arrested after failing to stop for a stop sign in Orillia Tuesday evening.
On July 31, 2018 around 7:30 p.m., Orillia OPP officers observed a vehicle on Mississauga St. fail to stop for a stop sign. Police attempted to pull the vehicle over but the driver refused to stop.
A short while later, they were able to stop the vehicle at the intersection of Ashton Street and Louise Lane, where they learned that the man was wanted on several outstanding charges. As a result, he now faces charges of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, flight while being pursued by a peace officer, three counts of failure to comply with a probation order, possession of a schedule I substance and several Highway Traffic Act offenses.
The driver was held in custody pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice on August 1, 2018.
