In Canada There Were 77,000 Complaints Of Fraud In 2016 Alone

We hear about it almost daily.  Fraud.  CRA phone scams, phishing scams, fake emails pretending to be your bank.  The list goes on and on.

In 2016, 77,000 Canadians  were victims of fraud to the tune of $99,000,000.  $20 Million of that was due to Romance fraud.

 In 2016, it logged more than 77,000 complaints that resulted in losses of more than $99-million, with the top scams by complaint involving extortion, phishing, and fake computer-service companies. The frauds that resulted in the most money lost were romance scams, at more than $20-million.
