A line of fast moving thunderstorms tracked across much of Southern Ontario Friday afternoon. Strong wind gusts were reported with these thunderstorms. There were also a few reports of small hail accompanying the thunderstorms.
After these thunderstorms passed a sharp cold front moved across Southern Ontario. Strong southwest or westerly wind gusts also accompanied the front.
The strong winds resulted in considerable damage across most of Southern Ontario. They resulted in widespread power outages as trees and branches fell onto hydro lines. Snapped hydro poles were also reported. Other impacts included damage to shingles, siding and fences.
