Grandparents Are Rescued On Jet Skis From Their Flooded Houston Home After Calling Their Local Chick Fil-A To Order Burritos And A Boat

An elderly Texas couple were able to escape their flood-ravaged house on jet skis after they called their local Chick-Fil-A to order burritos and a boat.  Karen and J.C. Spencer became stranded on Monday when their home in Houston became a victim to rising Hurricane Harvey floodwaters.  J.C. said he called their local Chick-Fil-A where the couple are regulars to ask for help.  “We had to get out of there so I called Chick-fil-A… now that sounds kind of funny,” he told GMA yesterday.  “I ordered two grilled chicken burritos with extra egg and a boat.  Can you believe that one of the managers of Chick-fil-A, she sent her husband to pick us up and we are so grateful.”  The manager’s husband arrived in the small rescue boat as the couple were trying to figure out which of their possessions they would be able to carry with them.  Two jet ski riders then showed up at the couple’s front door offering to take them to free up space for their belongings in the boat.  “Karen jumped on the back of a jet ski and I jumped on the back of another one and they evacuated us to higher ground,” J.C. said.  The couple weren’t able to get the names of the jet ski riders but want to locate them to say thank you.
