We should be and it feels like we are in prime time flu season here in Canada. But as cases continue to spike across the country, experts are now suggesting the peak of flu season could still be weeks off. Infectious-disease experts describe this influenza season as “unusual,” pointing out there is a mix of two strains that are dominating. A doctor with Public Health Ontario says the dominant influenza A strain H3N2 is still out there, but it’s mixing with the much earlier-than-usual circulation of a B strain.
