Looking for a great idea for family bonding? Why not row across the ocean. That’s exactly what this father and daughter from Burlington are doing right now.
John and Libby Beeden are sleeping in shifts and taking turns at the oar as they row from Portugal to Antigua.
The pair set off about a month ago on the 56-hundred-kilometre trek.
John Beeden, who’s originally from the U-K, became the first person to row solo non-stop from North America to Australia in 2015.
He was about to “hang up his oars,” before 20-year-old Libby convinced him to get back in the boat.
