COME AND PLAY ALL DAY WITH THE ETOBICOKE HANDWEAVERS AND SPINNERS GUILD AT THE ONTARIO HANDWEAVERS AND SPINNERS CENTRAL REGION SEMINAR!
A “tasting menu” of textile crafts is being offered Saturday, September 15, by the Etobicoke Handweavers and Spinners Guild at Neilson Park Creative Centre. From 10 am to 4 pm, textile makers and members of the public are invited to try their hand at spinning, weaving, and dyeing, or watch short presentations about textile crafts. Speakers include widely-known knitting designer Fiona Ellis, weaver Deborah Livingston-Lowe, representatives from Craft Ontario, and presentations on traditional weaving in Ontario and Quebec as well as Ontario dye plants.
“Come and Play All Day” will also include a vendors’ market where you can shop and a tea room where you can relax and chat with friends. (Tea and coffee will be provided, but bring your own treats or lunch!)
Admission is $7 at the door. The Neilson Park Creative Centre is at 56 Neilson Drive, Etobicoke.
