Donation Received For New Library Building

The new Meaford Public Library received a big boost today when Canadian Base Operators presented the fundraising committee with a $5,000 donation. The contribution will go towards costs for the Jean Chrétien author event on Sunday, October 28 at 2 pm at Meaford Hall.

Meaford Public Library Fundraising Committee chair Peter Bantock says, “The committee greatly appreciates the support of Canadian Base Operators for this important fundraising event. We are thrilled to be working with a member of our local military community for the Jean Chrétien fundraising event. The new Meaford Public Library is a once-in-a-generation project for Meaford and we hope this donation by Canadian Base Operators will encourage others in the community to participate in library fundraising events during this exciting campaign. Thank you to Canadian Base Operators for your generous contribution.”

Peter Nowacki of Canadian Base Operators says, “We wanted to be part of this unique fundraising event featuring Jean Chrétien. It is so exciting to have such a distinguished speaker come to the community. At Canadian Base Operators, we see the new, accessible library building as a wonderful enhancement for Meaford. We recognize that the new library will be enjoyed by people of all ages in the community as well as many of our employees, colleagues, and members of the military. Canadian Base Operators is very pleased to support the future of the new Meaford Public Library through our donation.”

Library CEO Cathie Lee notes, “The Meaford Public Library is thrilled to have the support of Canadian Base Operators for this exciting fundraising event. This generous contribution of $5,000 will mean that the Jean Chrétien author event will be even more successful in raising funds for the new, accessible Meaford Public Library.”
