Collision Near Port Perry Leaves Three Dead

The OPP are investigating a fatal collision which occurred on Highway 7/12 near the 4th line in Scugog, Ontario in Durham region.

On Saturday, October 6, 2018, at 1:15 a.m., an SUV was travelling northbound on Highway 7/12 when it entered the southbound lanes and collided head on with a southbound passenger vehicle.

The lone male driver of the SUV – a 68 year old man from Greenbank Ontario was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

The passenger vehicle had 4 occupants:

59 year old male driver from Goodwood Ontario – deceased

55 year old female from Goodwood Ontario – deceased

44 year old female from Port Perry Ontario – deceased

41 year old female from Goodwood Ontario – transported to hospital with critical injuries.

The OPP Traffic Support Unit are assisting in the investigation of the collision. Highway 7/12 was closed for the investigation but reopened at 9:30 a.m.

The road or weather conditions do not appear to be a factor in the collision. No charges have been laid at this time, the investigation is ongoing.
