General Motors is recalling almost 700,000 Chevy and GM pickup trucks because of a steering issue. The 2014 Chevy Silverado LD and GMC Sierra LD may have a software problem that causes a brief loss of the trucks’ electric steering assistance. Owners of the involved trucks can take the vehicle into a dealer for a free software update to fix the problem. GM says about 80,000 of those vehicles are on the road in Canada.
