Picture this; You are out for dinner with friends having a nice visit and your pal pulls out his phone and responds to a text or makes a quick call. Is this socially acceptable? Apparently yes.
A recent study says we are more patient with someone making a quick call or sending a text while visiting socially.
To reach this conclusion, the team at The University of Michigan’s school of information surveyed 1,163 people between ages eight and 88 in English-speaking countries around the world.
They did point out that we were more patient with someone attending to a quick call or text related to work. However, we do not accept someone surfing on Facebook or playing a game in our presence.
