On Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 6:10 am, Caledon OPP were dispatched to a traffic complaint of an erratic driver travelling southbound on Highway 10 in a red Ford Focus.
An officer located the Ford on Highway 10 just south of Charleston Sideroad and subsequently conducted a traffic stop. By the time the officer stopped the vehicle, the driver had been operating his motor vehicle with the front driver’s side tire half off the rim causing sparks to be observed and debris from the tire flying onto the highway.
The officer determined that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by the consumption of alcohol and arrested the operator of the Ford accordingly.
The driver, 38, of Mississauga was charged with Driving While Ability Impaired- motor vehicle (Alcohol) and Driving with More than 80 mgs. of Alcohol in Blood, and Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to make his first appearance in Orangeville Court on May 4, 2017.
