$36,000 Found In Donated Doll Collection

Employees at a Santa Monica California thrift shop tracked down a man who donated his late mother’s doll collection

He didn’t know there was $36,000 cash in a box that came with the dolls.

Ray Rhinehart said he donated his mother’s doll collection to the American Cancer Society’s Discovery Shop in Santa Monica shortly after her passing.

Ray said he was surprised to get the phone call telling him that they had found the money stashed within his donation.

I think it is remarkable that they were able to track him down and return the cash.   I make sure I check the pockets of clothing going to donation. Nobody has ever taken my name and number down when donating goods.

I also have a zero percent chance of having/missing/losing $36,000.

Great story with a happy ending.
